Theresa Westbrook is an author, inspirational speaker, media producer, television host, wife, mother, young grandmother, and survivor of sexual abuse as a child. Her poignant communication of both heart and soul – peels back the veil of secret lives and unanswered questions regarding the sexual abuse of children, offering hope and peace for victims and accountability and hope to change to perpetrators. Using her book, A Strand of Pearls, and her DVD, God’s Pearl, Theresa is able to share restoration discovered in Jesus Christ. Frank Minirth, MD, one of the top leading psychiatrists in the nation, has endorsed her book A Strand of Pearls. His authoring credentials include over seventy books written or co-authored. Chaplains and counselors who treat the survivors of abuse and those who treat abusers are requesting A Strand of Pearls to share with their patients. Theresa’s video, God’s Pearl, is an award winning video that has also brought comfort to many, and has been honored as an official selection before being screened in two Texas film festivals, to date.

Theresa Westbrook, survivor, minister, and so much more… has shared her story on a number of platforms and to a broad range of audiences on both television and radio. She has ministered at women’s retreats, before recovery groups, in churches, at crisis agencies, correctional institutions, and to a host of others needing to hear her remarkable story of triumph over tragedy. Along with the efforts and work of her husband, Don Westbrook, she is also the founder of Pearls of Shalom Ministries.

A survivor, herself, Theresa’s life is one of renewal and victory, smiles and joy – found – beyond the abuse.

THERESA WESTBROOK CHILD/ADULT ADVOCATE:

Christians Raising Awareness of Child Abuse and Sexual Abuse.

It is certain that you know someone who has been physically or sexually abused as a child and even more sobering is the fact that you unknowingly are acquainted with someone who has abused children. "Before there ever is a child victim of abuse, there is first an abuser." To effectively end child abuse, we must address both the needs of the victims/survivors and the needs of the abusers/victimizers.

EXCERPT FROM THERESA’S NEW BOOK
THE ADVOCATES...OF THE ABUSED AND SILENT
PUBLISHED BY AUTHOR HOUSE:

I Have A Dream: “I dream of a world in which no child would ever experience the cruelty of abuse. What  would this look like? As it is a fact that much child abuse is dealt out by the hands of adults with drug and alcohol addictions, there would be less humanity bound by these addictions. And as it has been studied that poverty can be associated with child abuse, there would be less poverty in this new world.  By eliminating child abuse, there would be less crime in society because we all know that hurting people  hurt others! Dare to dream along with me and labor as one, to make a difference now and in future generations – one wounded heart at a time. Let this dream become the birth canal that delivers happy, healthy and whole children everywhere!” …by Theresa Westbrook
